Laurium – Doris E. Brisebois age 88 passed away at the Omega House on Saturday, May 11th on her 88th birthday.  She was born in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of John “Jack” and Winifred Hamilton.  She was married to Armando Marinez, they had one son Dario Martinez.  Armando died in an automobile accident in 1955.  She married Edward Brisebois in 1957, they had one son Bryan and a daughter Denise.  Doris and Ed settled in Laurium following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force in 1974.  Doris was a volunteer in the community for over forty years, including kid’s bowling at Miller’s, Calumet Golf Course, Little Brother’s volunteer, Meals on Wheels, and introducing the area to aerobics.  She was preceded in death by Armando, Edward and fiancé Reuben Normand.  She is survived by her brothers James and Richard Hamilton; sons Dario (Nora), and Bryan (Leigh) and daughter Denise (Stan).  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Dario, David, Aimee, Alex, Jenni, Nicole, Greggory and Bryan; and nine great-grandchildren and her four-legged best friend, Buster.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15th from four p.m. until six p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home.   The family would like to thank the staff of the Omega House for their compassionate care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Omega House.
