Fred Burcar

Calumet – Fred Burcar Jr, age 78 passed away at the GreenTree of Hubbell on Tuesday December 21, 2021.  He was born on May 15, 1943, a son of Fred and Ann Burcar and graduated from Calumet High School in 1959.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 and married the former Lauralee Hodge in 1963.  Fred worked at the Calumet Elks Lodge and Ryan Funeral Home and for the LR Vincent Trucking Company.  He retired in 1986.  Fred was a Packer and Red Wing fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Annette Gronewald and Carol (Wesley) Rauvala, and brother-in-law Marvin Waisanen.  Fred is survived by his son Brian (Dawn) of Norway, Michigan, daughter Wanda (Bruce) Kerttu of Calumet, and sister Audrey Haataja of Calumet.  He is survived by grandchildren Crystal (John) Bouche, Keith (Andrea) Tina Burcar, Sr., Amy (Kyle) Waatti, Amber (Bert) Burcar, Cory (Crystal) Kerttu, Chrissy (Josh) Burcar, and Heather (Mike) Burcar.

Also surviving are great-grandchildren Kelly, Joey, Tyler, Haylee, Keith Jr., Hailey, Leah, Jax, Seth, Chloe, Kingsley, Brentley, Noah, and several nieces and nephews, and ex-wife and friend Laura Burcar.  Graveside services for Fred will be on Monday, May 23rd in Section D-2 of the Lake View Cemetery at 11 a.m..
