Johnna Lyn (Erkkila) Therrian

Johnna Lyn Therrian age 58 of Canton, formerly of Laurium, Michigan, passed away on January 10, 2022.  Johnna was born August 3, 1963 to John and Sharon Erkkila.  She was raised in Laurium and attended Calumet High School where she graduated in 1981.  Johnna went on to earn her LPN certificate from Gogebic Community College and later received her RN degree from Finlandia University.  Johnna then enrolled in Northern Michigan University and continued her education through the University of Phoenix, where she obtained her Master's degree in Nursing.  Her studies continued as she was working towards her doctorate in Healthcare Management at the University of Phoenix.  She served as a nurse for over 30 years at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and taught at Finlandia University where she served as chair of Nursing Program before becoming an Associate Professor.  Johnna loved to travel and would take any opportunity to do so.  Some of her favorite memories were travels with her family all over Europe and Hawaii.  She was also a major TV buff and enjoyed watching crime shows, the Food Network, and HGTV.  But her greatest joy by far was her family.  She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Johnna was the beloved wife of James for 32 years.  Loving mother of Kristen (Sam) Perram and stepmother of Christopher (Stacey) Foster.  Proud grandmother of Reagan Perram, Aidan, and Alyvia Foster.  Cherished daughter of Sharon and the late John Erkkila.  Dearest sister of Jon (Rachel) Erkkila and aunt of Lily and Dashiel Erkkila.  She also leaves behind her four legged companion, her dog, Sadie.  Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 31st at 11 a.m.  in Section E-2 of the Lake View Cemetery.
